Un percorso sicuramente unico che, partendo dal borgo di Sasso Pisano, conduce nel cuore delle manifestazioni naturali legate alla geotermia.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Camminando su rocce arroventate dal vapore, si osservano i fenomeni idrotermali superficiali, caratteristici di quest’ambiente sin dalla notte dei tempi e si riescono realmente a percepire le forze della natura, vive e pulsanti.<\/p>\n

Le fumarole, le fontane bollenti, i cristalli di zolfo che crescono lentamente e le bizzarre concrezioni, svelano un mondo insolito e colorato: un ambiente simile ai paesaggi vulcanici, ma a suo modo inimitabile, ricco di alterazioni geologiche che hanno generato habitat del tutto particolari.<\/p>\n

Poche specie vegetali riescono a sopravvivere al calore o all’estrema acidit\u00e0 del suolo, tra queste il brugo (Calluna Vulgaris). Da segnalare anche l’abbondante presenza della Quercia da sughero, che qui prospera oltre i 600 m. di quota grazie allo specifico microclima.<\/p>\n

La zona ha rappresentato, per secoli, un autentico tesoro minerario, ambita e contesa per le molte risorse, tra cui Vetriolo, Allume, Caolino e Boro.

Surely a unique itinerary which, starting from the small town of Sasso Pisano, leads into the heart of the natural geothermal landscape. Walking over rocks made scalding by the vapor, you may observe the superficial hydrothermal phenomena typical of this environment since the dawn of time, and you can truly perceive the force of nature, alive and pulsing. The fumaroles, the hot springs, the slow-growing sulfur crystals, and the bizarre concretions reveal an unusual and colorful world. An environment similar to volcanic landscapes, but unique in its own way, rich with geological alterations that have generated peculiar habitats. Few species of flora are able to survive the heat and the extreme acidity of the soil, among these the heather (Calluna vulgaris<\/em>). Remarkable also the widespread presence of the cork oak, which here grows 600 meters above sea level thanks to the unique microclimate.<\/p>\n

For centuries the area was a veritable mining treasure trove, coveted and disputed for its plentiful resources, among which vitriol, alum, kaolin, and boron.<\/p>\n

The path leads upwards until it reaches a panoramic pass in the Parco Naturalistico delle Biancane di Monterotondo M.mo, with spectacular views of the sea, then it doubles back and descends towards Sasso through ancient chestnut groves, some of which are still farmed for their
