Storico dell’arte e celebre storico e scrittore di economia nato a Tavarnelle Val di Pesa il 15 giugno 1808. La casa e un ampio terreno limitrofo detto \u201ccampo dei Fitti\u201d rimasero propriet\u00e0 del padre Benedetto fino al 1846. Antonio Zobi comp\u00ec gli studi a Firenze, dedicandosi in particolare all’architettura; i suoi primi scritti sono infatti saggi di storia dell’arte. Si occup\u00f2 per un certo tempo dei lavori per la formazione del nuovo catasto di Toscana e di questioni economiche. Contemporaneamente scrisse una storia del Granducato di Toscana dall\u2019inizio del governo dei Lorena fino alla morte di Ferdinando III, con il consenso dello stesso governo, che gli aveva concesso di esaminare i documenti degli archivi: ma quando la stampa dell’opera era gi\u00e0 avanzata, ne fu inibita la pubblicazione per la “natura gelosa della materia”. Art historian and famous historian and economics writer, born in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa on the 15th of June 1808. The house and a large neighboring ground called “campo dei Fitti” remained property of his father Benedetto until 1846. Antonio Zobi completed his studies at Florence, focusing in particular on architecture; in fact, his first writings are essays of art history. For some time he worked on the construction of the new land registry for Tuscany and on economic issues.
