Negli ultimi anni della sua vita, San Giovanni Gualberto si ritir\u00f2 nell’Abbazia di San Michele Arcangelo a Badia a Passignano, dove poi fu sepolto. La leggenda racconta che il Santo, ormai anziano, era solito scendere a cavallo dalla Badia verso il Molino dell’Abate, dove incontrava i contadini della zona per confortarli, benedirli e lenire cos\u00ec i loro dolori. In the last years of his life San Giovanni Gualberto retired to the Abbey of Saint Michele in Badia a Passignano, where he was buried. Legend tells that the Saint, now an old man, used to go horseback riding from Badia to the Molino dell’Abate Mill, where he met the peasants of the area to comfort them, bless them and soothe their pains.
