A rare example of a happy marriage between research professionals, who converge here from every part of the country and the world, and fans of all ages, nationalities and social backgrounds who wish to cultivate the scientific disciplines that the Observatory has adopted.<br \/>\nIt is divided into 4 research structures (in brackets the reference research body):<br \/>\nAstronomical Observatory (Dept. of Physics and Astronomy, UNIFI)<br \/>\nGeo-seismic observatory (INGV)<br \/>\nMeteorological Observatory (LaMMA Consortium)<br \/>\nChianti Botanic Park (Botanical Garden, UNIFI)<br \/>\nand 5 sections open to fans:<br \/>\nEnvironmental Group<br \/>\nGruppo Astrofili<br \/>\nSentinelle Meteo<br \/>\nVisual Arts Section<br \/>\nIt is also proposed as a research laboratory and scientific teaching, a place for cultural encounter and social gathering, which over the years has become an important tourist attraction. The mission of the OPC is to make science an experience for everyone. For this reason the structure offers the possibility of access to disabled people from the Botanical Park to the astronomical dome.
