Metre-scale south-verging folds in the Plattenkalk nappe. Several faults and these asymmetric south-verging folds (photo) reflect Oligocene compression and are exposed in the Samaria Gorge, which developed as a result of contemporaneous (Pleistocene) continent uplift and erosion. <\/p>\n
